The Paine House – USA
Nearest city: Coventry, Rhode Island
Built in the late 1600s, the Paine House is one of Rhode Island’s oldest surviving structures and served as a tavern, family home, and Revolutionary War hospital. Today it operates as a museum, but staff and visitors report disembodied voices, phantom footsteps, and the apparition of a woman in colonial dress. Paranormal investigators have captured EVP recordings and unexplained light anomalies, making it a frequent stop on New England ghost tours. Its long history and preserved colonial atmosphere have cemented its reputation as one of the region’s most haunted houses.
