This abandoned manor house near Penafiel is infamous for the legend of the “Lady in Black.” According to local lore, she was a cruel landowner who mistreated her servants and was cursed after death to wander the halls of the estate. Visitors claim to see her dark figure at the windows, hear footsteps in the empty rooms, and feel sudden chills inside the ruins. The decayed grandeur of the house, combined with persistent ghost stories, has made Quinta da Juncosa one of Portugal’s most talked-about haunted sites.
