The Olitiau, often described as a massive bat-like cryptid with a wingspan of up to 12 feet, has been reported in the forests of Cameroon. First documented in the 1930s by explorer Ivan T. Sanderson, locals feared it as an evil spirit dwelling in caves. Sightings link it to attacks on hunters and livestock, and some cryptozoologists speculate it may be a surviving species of giant bat or pterosaur. Modern expeditions in the Asomba Mountains continue to search for evidence, though no verifiable footage has surfaced.
