The Menehune are small, elf-like beings from Hawaiian legend, said to live deep in forests and hidden valleys across the islands. Standing just 2–3 feet tall, they are famed for their supernatural craftsmanship, credited with building fishponds, heiau (temples), and roads overnight—structures like the Alekoko Fishpond on Kauai are still pointed to as evidence of their work.
