In Philippine folklore, the Tikbalang is a tall, horse-headed humanoid with long limbs, said to lurk on mountain paths and dense forest trails. It is notorious for misleading travellers, causing them to become disoriented and wander in circles, often accompanied by the sound of phantom hoofbeats and mocking laughter. Modern hikers in the Cordillera region still share unsettling encounters, keeping the legend alive in the highlands around Baguio.
