Rundāles Palace – Latvia
Nearest city: Pilsrundāle, Rundāle Parish
Designed in the 1730s by Bartolomeo Rastrelli for the Dukes of Courland, Rundāle is Latvia’s “Versailles”—lavish, baroque, and restored after war and Soviet use. Staff and visitors tell of a “White Lady” drifting through galleries at night, thought to be a young woman who died tragically in service of the Dukes. Others report cold spots in the Duke’s apartments and fleeting figures during evening events.
