Qivittoq – Greenland
Nearest city: Kangerlussuaq

Qivittoq refers to the legendary wilderness wanderers of Greenlandic Inuit folklore. People who, after being driven from their communities or losing their sanity, became supernatural beings haunting the mountains and tundra. Hikers and hunters still share stories of hearing cries, seeing fleeting figures or feeling watched in Greenland’s remote hills. While there is no single site, the myth is most often associated with the wild regions near Kangerlussuaq, Sisimiut, and the coastal fjords.
